Past research has found that gay men experience body dissatisfaction with a desire to be thin and have lean muscle mass, whereas straight men often do not experience this body dissatisfaction (Levesque & Vichesky, 2006). Until now, research has failed to specifically consider the experiences of bisexual men in relation to body appearance. Areas of discussion include findings of the research project, possible factors contributing to levels of body dissatisfaction with bisexual men, and future directions of this research area.
