In my research paper, I examine the role of the female orgasm in women’s history. As far back as Aristotle, the perception of female sexuality has been distorted and altered to fit the opinions and morals of the current culture. The medical institution used science to prove what a woman was supposed to experience through the act of sex, and for decades, even centuries, delegated women to the submissive role. These views have a lasting effect on modern society’s judgments of female sexuality, and because of them, it is a foundation in America that women are not supposed to enjoy sex as much as men.
