September 11, 2001 will forever remain in our hearts as the “day the world stopped turning.” That morning, when terrorists attacked our nation, we stopped, frozen in time, and watched. For the first time in my lifetime I saw people, all people, come together to mourn. To see the people of the United States and all around the world open their hearts to each other; I was honored to be a part of this great nation. We must never forget the heros of that tragic day. The men and women of the fire departments, hospitals, police departments and the everyday people who risked their lives to save another’s.
The media played an instrumental role in our perception of the day’s events. On that beautiful September morning they stopped being reporters and became human beings. The result of this transformation has proven to be the most genuine and heartfelt coverage of any story in history. The media lost many of their own that day, and they were lost for each of us. A tribute to the media’s work of 9/11…
