Earlier this year I had the opportunity to intern with World Trade Press in Petaluma, California. World Trade Press is a web- and print-based publishing company that specializes in international trade materials designed for a wide audience, including schools, libraries, internationally focused businesses, and independent travelers. The company’s philosophy is to bolster international trade communications and cultural awareness by providing access to culturally relevant information about a range of countries.
While interning with World Trade Press, I worked closely with the editorial team and completed weekly seminars designed to increase my knowledge of the publishing industry. Participating in this internship allowed me to gain hands-on experience in the career I wish to pursue after graduation. My presentation will be useful for students interested in participating in internships or embarking on careers in the publishing industry. I will highlight the projects I completed, provide more information about World Trade Press, and address key points surrounding the future of publishing.
