Earlier this year, students in Financial Management Seminar studied individual companies using the discounted cash flow technique to perform a stock evaluation. During the term, the students visited the financial market in Chicago in order to gain real world experience in financial management. In Chicago, the class visited the Board of Trade, Mercantile Exchange, and Federal Reserve Bank. On the final day of the trip, the class visited Mount Prospect National Bank, where they presented their individual projects to bank officers.
We will be displaying a poster that will outline the course and discuss our Chicago trip. Also, our individual projects will be available for viewing. These projects include an analysis of and projected earnings for Dell, Gap, and the New York Times. Other students interested in taking the class and individuals curious to our findings within our specific projects are welcome to ask questions. We will share the attitude students should have before entering the class and how to get the most out of the entire experience.
